King Charles' III Coronation

On the week leading up to King Charles’s Coronation, we hosted a handful of events and workshops to help celebrate our new King. The week started with a whole school assembly by Principal Rogers. The assembly was aimed to inform and educate our pupils about patriarchy and monarchy. In classes throughout the week, students were quizzed on what they have learnt in the whole school assembly. We also hosted ‘A Letter to the King’ workshop which gave students the opportunity to write a few words, welcoming King Charles to the throne. Megan Jolly - Under 17s Wrestling GB Gold Medalist

One of our own, Megan Jolly took part in the Great British Wrestling Championships this weekend in a tough match against one of Britain's finest wrestlers. Megan won the Under 17s Gold medal by beating a tough competitor from Bolton who was five kilos heavier. The matches consisted of two-by-two minute rounds with a 30 second break between rounds. The Albion Academy Take Part in UK Engineering Challenge

Last Wednesday, students from five United Learning schools across Greater Manchester took part in an Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Faraday Challenge Day.

As part of the event, students from Salford City Academy – where the event was hosted – The Albion Academy, Irlam and Cadishead Academy, Manchester Academy and The Lowry Academy became real-life engineers for the day. Working in teams, they researched, designed and built solutions to real-world engineering problems.
