The government has allocated £650 million to be spent on supporting schools so that they can enable pupils to catch up. The additional funding is intended to be used for activities which ensure all pupils - particularly disadvantaged, SEND and vulnerable pupils – are given the support needed to fill any gaps in their learning as a result of lost teaching during the pandemic.
The amount each school will receives will be calculated according to the number of pupils they have, and they should allocate the funding according to their own needs and circumstances.
