Key Stage 4 Curriculum
Key Stage 4 covers Years 10 and 11. Across this two year period, pupils will continue to access all aspects of the core curriculum.
These core subjects are:
- English (Language and Literature)
- Mathematics
- Science
- Physical Education
In addition, pupils study three other subjects that they have been guided into as part of the Year 9 options process.
In total, most Key Stage 4 pupils will access 8 GCSE qualifications or equivalents. This is because core Physical Education is a non-accredited programme of study. The 8 GCSE or equivalent qualifications are:
- English Language
- English Literature
- Mathematics
- Science (at least the value of x 2 GCSE)
- Option 1
- Option 2
- Option 3
Currently the option choices available to students comprise of:
- History
- Geography
- French
- Spanish
- Triple Science
- BTEC Sport
- BTEC Business Studies/Enterprise
- BTEC Creative and Media
- Art, Craft and Design
- Art
- Hospitality and Catering
- Music
- Drama
