At Key Stage 3, students experience all areas of Technology through a rotation carousel, ensuring they develop a broad understanding of design, nutrition, digital technology and problem solving before making Key Stage 4 option choices. 
 
Students study ICT & Computing, Food & Nutrition and Design & Technology. Throughout Years 7–9, students develop practical, creative and analytical skills whilst applying the Technology Faculty's core principles of Design, Make, Evaluate and Knowledge. Learning is carefully sequenced to build confidence, independence and resilience whilst preparing students for future study, employment and everyday life. 

Students develop skills in digital literacy, information technology and computer science. They learn how to use technology safely, create digital products and develop programming skills through a progression from block-based programming in Year 7 to increasingly complex Python programming by Year 9. 

Students develop practical cooking skills alongside an understanding of nutrition, food safety and healthy lifestyles. They learn how to prepare and cook a range of dishes whilst developing confidence, independence and essential life skills that will support them throughout their lives.

Students apply the design process to solve problems through research, planning, design development, manufacture and evaluation. They develop practical workshop skills whilst learning about materials, sustainability and the impact of design on society and the environment. 

Students can continue their studies through a range of creative, technical and vocational qualifications, including:

• Hospitality & Catering 
• Fine Art 
• Photography 
 
These qualifications allow students to further develop their practical, creative, technical and analytical skills whilst exploring future pathways into education, apprenticeships and employment.
