The Technology curriculum at The Albion Academy is designed to nurture and awaken a joy in creative expression. Through our curriculum we ensure students see themselves, feel represented and are introduced to a world beyond their immediate experience.
We hope to provide a safe space to become themselves, instead of more like everyone else. At Key Stage 3, Food Technology, ICT and Computing, and Design and Technology are taught on termly rotation. Pupils are taught by specialists where possible.
The Hospitality and Catering course is intended to equip learners with a range of skills to work in the hospitality industry.
Learners will be assessed through a written examination and an assignment.
Unit 1 will be assessed through an exam, which is worth 40% of your qualification.
Unit 2 you will complete an assignment where you will plan and prepare a menu in response to a brief. This will be worth 60% of your qualification and will take 12 hours.
