Staff Honoured with Buckingham Palace Invitation for Outstanding Community Service

Two long‑serving members of staff, Ms Waters and Ms Ward, have been recognised for their exceptional dedication to the local community with an invitation to the prestigious Buckingham Palace Spring Garden Party. Their nomination celebrates years of commitment to leading the school’s Combined Cadet Force (CCF) and enriching the lives of young people across Salford.

For many years, both staff members have played a central role in developing the CCF into one of the school’s most vibrant and impactful enrichment programmes. Under their leadership, the CCF has taken part in numerous community events, regularly supporting military veterans and contributing to Remembrance activities across Salford.

Beyond community service, the CCF offers students a wide range of transformative experiences — from residential camps to confidence‑building challenges, teamwork development, self‑discipline training, and even opportunities such as flying lessons. Thanks to the dedication of Ms Waters and Ms Ward, the CCF has grown into the largest enrichment club in the school, giving students access to opportunities that shape character, ambition, and lifelong skills.

The school community is immensely proud of both staff members for the passion and commitment they bring to their roles. Their recognition at Buckingham Palace reflects not only their service, but the positive impact they have had on generations of students.

In true spirited fashion, Ms Ward even took the opportunity to cheekily request a Royal visit to the school — so watch this space!
